Defending

Parental Rights

in Rhode Island

As a father and entrepreneur, Vic Mellor is a fierce defender of the fundamental rights of parents. He believes that parents, not Washington bureaucrats, politicians, or radical school boards, must have the primary authority to guide their children’s education, moral upbringing, and healthcare decisions.

Parents have a fundamental right to know what is happening with their children at school. Running for Congress in Rhode Island’s 2nd District, Vic is committed to putting parents back in charge and shielding Rhode Island families from government intrusion.

The Choice

Parents vs. Politicians

Rhode Island families deserve to know where their representatives stand when it comes to their children. Incumbent Congressman Seth Magaziner has consistently voted against parents and aligned himself with radical special interests in Washington. Vic Mellor stands firmly with parents.

VOTED NO on guaranteeing parents access to school budgets, curricula, and library materials.

Vic Mellor’s Commitment

Actions Matter

Empowering Parents, Not the State

Parental rights are under siege in classrooms and healthcare facilities across the country. Vic Mellor’s platform is designed to combat ideologies that attempt to sideline mothers and fathers:

  • Against Parental Concealment: Seth Magaziner voted NO on laws requiring schools to notify parents when a child requests to change their name, pronouns, or gender identity at school. Vic Mellor believes schools must never keep secrets from parents.
  • Protecting Girls’ Spaces: Parents should not have to worry about their daughters sharing locker rooms or competing on unfair athletic fields against biological males. Vic will fight to preserve women’s sports and private spaces.
  • Building a Pro-Family Movement: Vic has put words into action by actively backing and funding school board candidates who oppose “woke” mandates, helping to secure board majorities focused on common sense and family values.
  • Creating Family-Focused Community Spaces: Through his local community center, The Hollow, Vic has fostered positive environments for family events and classes that teach traditional values, reinforcing the role of parents as primary leaders in their children’s lives.

Vic’s Plan to Restore Parental Authority

Vic will combat state and federal policies that erode parental authority and champion federal legislation that puts parents back in control. His plan includes:

  • Mandatory Curriculum Transparency:
Requiring schools to provide full and timely notification to parents regarding sensitive topics, sex education, or controversial materials being taught in the classroom.
  • Protecting Minors’ Health Decisions:
Advocating for federal legislation that explicitly bans gender-affirming medical procedures for minors without explicit parental consent, ensuring these major decisions remain with the family.
  • Supporting School Choice Vouchers:
Believing that competition improves education, Vic supports school choice vouchers and funding that give working-class families the power to choose the best private, charter, or homeschool options for their children.
  • Opposing Unnecessary Health Mandates:
Drawing from his advocate background, including founding the We The People Health & Wellness Center, Vic believes parents, not government mandates, must decide on all medical treatments for their children.
