General Flynn and Vic Mellor Featured on PBS Frontline
PBS Frontline Targets Michael Flynn
Four years after Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn spoke with the Sarasota Herald-Tribune about entering local GOP politics, PBS Frontline released its 2022 documentary Michael Flynnโs Holy War. Produced with the Associated Press, the film attempts to portray Flynn as a dangerous extremist engaged in a โspiritual warโ inside the United States.
Throughout the documentary, Flynn speaks openly about faith and patriotism. He calls prayer โprobably the most powerful weapon system known to man.โ In addition, he notes that the left, socialists, Marxists, and communists fear the influence of faith-based movements.
Flynn also says he refuses to hand his children and grandchildren a communist country. Furthermore, he reminds audiences that America was founded as a faith-based society. As stated by Flynn, those values remain part of the nationโs DNA.
Flynnโs Rhode Island Roots
The documentary traces Flynnโs upbringing back to Rhode Island. He grew up in a Catholic family deeply involved in pro-life activism.
His mother, Helen Flynn, played a major role in the movement. Michael Flynn attended the first national March for Life when he was just 15 years old. His brother Joe recalled that the family carried โCatholics for Lifeโ banners and regularly faced hostility from the political left.
The ReAwaken America Movement
After decades defending America overseas, Flynn saw similar ideological threats emerging at home. As a result, he became heavily involved in grassroots political organizing after 2020.
He later joined the ReAwaken America Tour and traveled across the country speaking to supporters. In doing so, Flynn helped build a nationwide grassroots network focused on constitutional freedoms and civic engagement. However, PBS and the Associated Press try to dismiss the movement and label it as โfar-right.โ
Critics continue to label Flynn a conspiracy theorist and extremist. His supporters, however, see something very different. They understand him as a patriot unwilling to surrender to media pressure or political attacks.
Vic Mellor Takes the Fight to Rhode Island
Flynn has consistently emphasized leadership through action. Vic Mellor, the owner of The Hollow 2A, is now launching his own campaign in Rhode Island. Mellor is taking Flynn’s message directly to voters in the same state where Flynnโs political roots began.
Rhode Island remains labeled as a deep blue state. Because of that, many political insiders believe a conservative grassroots campaign cannot succeed there. However, Flynn has never focused on what political elites consider possible. Instead, he has consistently emphasized courage, faith, and local action.
Mellor is following the same approach. By running for Congress in 2026, he is actively turning the message of โlocal action equals national impactโ into practice in Rhode Island.
